Healthbridge is building the infrastructure that enables healthcare organizations to securely exchange data, collaborate more effectively, and improve outcomes.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will help build and scale the foundational technology behind Healthbridge’s healthcare interoperability platform. You will design, develop, and maintain the systems, services, and infrastructure that enable secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange across healthcare organizations.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and healthcare stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges involving integrations, data workflows, platform reliability, and security while helping establish the engineering foundation for Healthbridge’s continued growth.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure that supports healthcare data exchange and interoperability workflows.

• Develop backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities that enable secure integration with healthcare systems and external data sources.

• Build and improve systems that support reliable ingestion, processing, transformation, and exchange of healthcare data.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate complex healthcare workflows and technical requirements into scalable solutions.

• Design and implement secure, reliable, and highly available systems that meet the needs of healthcare organizations.

• Contribute to architecture decisions involving scalability, performance, security, and operational reliability.

• Build and improve developer tooling, automation, monitoring, and deployment processes to increase engineering efficiency.

• Establish best practices around testing, observability, infrastructure management, and production operations.

• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and cross-functional planning to deliver high-quality software.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, or a closely related technical role.

• Experience designing and operating production-grade systems and infrastructure.

• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience integrating with external systems, APIs, or complex enterprise environments.

• Experience owning technical projects from architecture and implementation through production deployment.

• Experience working in regulated industries or environments involving sensitive data preferred.

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, distributed systems, and backend architecture.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and production operations.

• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or similar backend technologies.

• Experience designing and working with APIs, data pipelines, databases, and integration systems.

• Understanding of security, privacy, and compliance considerations when building healthcare technology.

• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR preferred.

Abilities

• Ability to independently design and deliver complex technical solutions from requirements through production.

• Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and make pragmatic engineering decisions.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems issues and communicate solutions clearly.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and healthcare stakeholders.

• Ability to operate in a fast-moving startup environment with ownership, ambiguity, and a high degree of autonomy.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building healthcare technology, interoperability platforms, or enterprise software systems.

• Experience with healthcare integrations, EHR systems, or healthcare data exchange workflows.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud automation.

• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or real-time data processing.

• Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and security best practices.

• Experience working at an early-stage or high-growth technology company.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 USD.
